There are additional resources available on this website that are designed for you to engage in activities that will interest you and expand your knowledge. In 1665, Isaac Newton had to stay home because of the bubonic plague. During this time, he developed calculus and the theory of gravity. Now is the time to do some in-depth learning that might engage you beyond your set curriculum. Reading is a great option.
Any assignment assigned for you in Google Classroom must still be completed by that due date.
Students will be required to submit work via the Google Classroom submission facility.
If on paper, they may need to submit photo(s) of their work.
Students can see all their assignments in one place on the ‘To Do’ list:
Assigned tasks will be listed as ‘Assigned’ (upcoming, not yet overdue), ‘Turned In’, or ‘Missing’ (not yet submitted – past due date): To Do List in Google Classroom
Adjustments to the form of assessment may be necessary. SACE have indicated there is flexibility for teachers to change the form of assessment where necessary.
Yes, Care Group educators will check in with you at the start of every day at 8.45am through Google Meet or Google Classroom. You will need to be waiting on line by 8.40am. Please pass on any concerns that you might have to your Care Group teacher.
Your usual lessons will still take place at normal times. You will be using your time at home to continue with the work set by your teachers.
Be waiting on line by 8.40am for Care Group.
Your teachers will also let you know through Google Calendar lessons which lessons they will present as live video conferences using Google Meet. You have been given information about how to use this. You must join online all live conferencing sessions set by your teachers. Your teachers will be checking that you have logged on to do your set work and have joined their online Google Meet sessions.
You must check each subject’s lesson notes in Google Calendar every day.
You will be able to contact your teacher through Google Classroom and school email.
Yes – even from home, learning and related schoolwork will continue.
You will be guided by your teachers as to what work is required, and the time frames to do so.
If you need to contact your teacher outside of the usual lesson time, you can do so using Google Classroom or school email.
Your teacher will adjust the course so that online learning can continue.
The School is aware that some practical tasks may not be possible with online learning, and your teachers will prepare alternative activities from other aspects of their subject area when appropriate.
Your teacher will send you support materials and any amended tasks that you would normally receive at school.
If you receive other types of support, the educators who work with you in that area will assist you through Google Meet or Classroom or email as best they can in an online situation.
If you have any concerns about your progress with the online work, you must let your educator know.
Students are expected to join live sessions. However, there will be recordings available in the relevant Google Classroom for students who, unavoidably, could not attend.
Teachers will be monitoring attendance and learning progress.
Students should wear neat – casual, appropriate attire while accessing Google Meet at home. We recommend school uniform (PE uniform is fine) during the day to help prepare themselves for being ‘at school’.
Ensure questions / answers in the 'Meet Chat' are relevant, appropriate and respectful.
If you do not obey the online behavioural expectations as outlined in Internet and Student Devices Policy, your access to Google Meet sessions may be removed for a period of time. If a pattern of behaviour continues, you will be contacted by your Head of School.
