Digital Citizenship Resources for parents provided by our HILLS parent community. At HILLS we are committed to ensuring that students and families have access to relevant resources to facilitate conversations about personal safety online.
Students are taught throughout their years at HILLS about the appropriate use of digital technologies.
If students are participating in online learning, it is important that families be aware that the usual level of advanced filtering that the School network provides will not apply within your home. The Advice for Parents Taming Technology link below provides general information about things that you can do if you have concerns about internet filtering and your child's safety online.

HILLS Educators will be monitoring student online participation and communication within the learning platforms provided by the School.
It is a parent responsibility to reinforce your family expectations of appropriate online behaviour, and monitor what they are doing when they are online.
The following statements are a summary of expectations outlined in the HILLS Computer User Agreement (for Parents and Students):
Respect learning time and resources
Respect others
Keep yourselves safe online
Notify an adult immediately if by accident students encounter materials which violate the rules of appropriate use
Students to be held accountable for their actions if the rules of appropriate use are violated
Use Email and Messaging Functions responsibly: cyber bullying or harassment is taken very seriously and privileges will be revoked immediately should this occur while using school resources
Students should not use a computer (or digital device) to harm other people or their work
Students should not view, send or display offensive messages or pictures
Students should not disclose personal information, or images of themselves when on the internet.
We ask that all parents please sign off the ‘Internet Usage Agreement’ form before students access any web-based or application programs:
