Online Rental Procedure
The easiest and fastest way to get your child an instrument
1. Visit www.portmansmusic.com
2. Scroll down the opening page to this and click the bar, RENT ONLINE NOW.
3. Complete the 3 drop-down selections: County, School, and Instrument
4. Then click the Select bar.
5. This will take you to a screen that has pink banner stating "You must have establised an account prior to continuing with the Online Rental Process. To do so, you must either Login or Create an Account to continue"
You will have to Create an Account with Portmans Music Superstore before you can rent the instrument.
EXPLANATION OF THE RENTAL PROCESS
Beneath the pink banner you will see the breakdown of costs for renting an instrument and the cost of the Accessories Package. The Accessories Package is a set of items required by your child’s band directors to set your child up with the tools necessary to learn how to play, practice, clean, and care for the instrument. The cost is a special package price offered by Portman’s. Later in this process you will upload debit/credit card information to allow Portmans Music Superstore to process a one-time payment for the Accessories package and to process the payment for the Down Payment and Monthly Maintenance. This will be charged to the card within 1-3 business days. The next charge you will receive on this card will be after the instrument is delivered to the school. These charges will appear monthly until the instrument is returned to an Educational Representative of Portmans Music Superstore.
To create the account, you click on the bold-faced words in the pink banner, “Create and Account”.
Fill out the required parent information. Portmans Music Superstore will email you a confirmation email and receipts for payments each month to the email address you use to create this account. Once you have completed the required boxes, click Create Account.
6. This will take you to another screen where you will fill out the Rental Agreement information. The total of your 1st payment will be shown. Below that you will complete the boxes below. Complete this information in the parent name. If you leave any box with an * blank, you will not be allowed to submit. This information is kept “in house” at Portmans Music Superstore. There is no credit check.
7. In the gray box there are Terms that you can access by clicking on the link. Then click the two boxes to indicate your understanding of the terms. Sign by typing your name.
8. Whichever credit/debit card you provide will be used for the first payment and all monthly payments unless you contact Portmans Music Superstore to change the card information.
9. Once you press Submit, you will be taken back to the home page. Check your email for a confirmation letter from Portmans Music Superstore.
