Term 1

Mr Lambe:

I had Mr Lambe for weeks 1 and 2 of STEM this term. We talked about how we would make our wind turbine. We watched videos and talked about what materials etc. We will use.

Ms Coughlan:

I had Ms Coughlan for weeks 3 and 4 of this term. We made and sent out a survey, made signs for the bins and a poster to display in the assembly area. I was involved in making the poster. Attached are photos of it.

Mr McCarthy:

I had Mr McCarthy for weeks 5 and 6 of this term. We learnt about circuits, power, voltage, resistance and efficiency. We made circuits on the tablets and we also made circuits in pairs. Attached is a photo of the circuit I made with Keelin.

Term 2 and 3

For term 2 and 3 we were mostly online. We were working on renewable energy sources with Mr McCarthy and all about wind turbines. Here's some of the work we did.

With Ms Coughlan for part of term 3 we made popcorn! But not only making popcorn we had to make up our own experiment, our group used butter popcorn and lightly salted popcorn. We decided to compare the time taken to cook each type and compare the number of kernels left after it was cooked before it started to burn.
