Kindergarten provides your child with an opportunity to learn and practice the essential social, emotional, problem-solving, and study skills that he/she will use throughout his/her schooling. The development of self-esteem is one of the important goals of kindergarten. We also begin emergent reading skills such as learning the alphabet, letter sounds, and blending them together to make words. Below are some websites to visit and use with your Kindergarten child.

Starfall - This website is created for students in grades PK-3. However, for a student that is struggling with some reading skills, this is a wonderful resource to use to fill in gap areas or to use for review. I encourage any student needing help with reading or math skills to check out this site. Enjoy!
ABCmouse provides more than 8,500 learning activities in the following subject areas: English Language Arts/Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, and Health. All activities are highly engaging and are effective learning tools. Activities are grade level appropriate: Preschool/Pre-K, Levels 1-4; Kindergarten, Levels 5&6; 1st Grade, Levels 7&8; 2nd Grade, Levels 9&10. Students in this year's 1st and 2nd grade are already experienced in using the program.
