This Policy applies to information collected by the ARES leadership team in coordination with the community of amateur radio operators for our communication exercises, and possible real world events. Information may be collected on-line and through our internally used "Emcomm Assistant" App, Google Workspace, and other electronic records. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and share your information in connection with the App, and our electronic records.
The App may collect certain personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") that you voluntarily provide when using the App, including but not limited to:
Name
Call Sign
Contact Information (Email Address, Phone Number)
Geographic Location Information, including:
Street Address
Latitude and Longitude
Maidenhead Grid Square
Military Grid Reference System (MGRS)
This information is collected to facilitate communication, coordination, and planning between participants in amateur radio exercises and may be used in the event of real world activations.
The information you provide will be used primarily for:
Facilitating communication among participants in the communication exercise.
Enhancing radio frequency (RF) communication capabilities with other participants.
Enabling effective coordination with district and section emergency coordinators of the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) during exercises or real-time events.
Your Personal Information may be shared with the following parties, strictly for the purposes outlined above:
FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operators: As necessary to develop RF communication capabilities during exercises and communication drills.
ARES District and Section Emergency Coordinators: To enable effective coordination and management of communication activities.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your information with third parties, except as required to facilitate the communication exercises and coordination activities described in this policy.
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your Personal Information from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure.

Request deletion of your data, subject to the App's need to maintain certain records for legitimate purposes.
