Haumana Kuleana

All Kawehena Project haumana who are awarded a scholarship and/or training grant are expected to stay on top of program kuleana.

Over the course of the award year, haumana are required to:

• attend Kawehena orientation at the beginning of the scholarship year

• meet with an academic advisor once a semester

• meet with a Kawehena alaka‘i once a semester

• attend a TEACH spotlight OR Ho‘oliuliu Series workshop/ event once a semester

• attend a grad school info session/ event OR a career workshop/ event once a semester

• attend an aloha ‘ āina session/ event once a semester

Documentation Needed:

Complete and submit the Kuleana Write-Up form for each of the events you are trying to count towards kuleana. If there is an event that is not listed on the calendar that you would like to count, be sure to reach out to a Kawehena alaka‘i for approval beforehand (kpuhm@hawaii.edu). In your request email, please include an event flyer and a few sentences that describe why you are requesting to attend the event and which requirement you are looking to have it count for.
