Getting some form of education or training after high school is becoming essential for good jobs and earning a good income.
Hawaiʻi is one of the states where most jobs will need this extra education, with nearly 70% of jobs requiring it.
By 2031, only 30% of jobs will be available for people with just a high school diploma or less.

“The main takeaway is that despite this narrative at the national level that college degrees aren’t a worthwhile investment, we’re finding that specifically from the University of Hawaiʻi campuses, a college degree is definitely a worthwhile investment,” said Rachel Inafuku, UHERO research economist and report author.
