Hi y'all!

I am very much looking forward to the start of the school year and beginning this new experience of remote learning. I will be the math and science teacher for 8th grade and will be working from school 8:30 - 2:45. Because of this, I will have access to materials and can share demonstrations as if everyone were actually there. We will be using google classroom everyday so you should be logging on each morning in order to have access to your curriculum, but also to access your google meet as it now pinned to top of your google classroom. You will also have access to my bitmoji classroom through google classroom and should look at it each morning to know what is on the agenda for the day. It is a wonderful tool to access extra material like virtual field trips, links for homework help, displays of outstanding student work, and some optional brain breaks to loosen up your day. In science, you will be using a platform called Stemscopes, as well as other online resources through google classroom to help with your online learning. The topics we will be covering this year in order will be the following: Earth and Solar System, Earth's Materials, The Role of Water, Natural Resources and Earth's Systems, Chemical Reactions, Forces and Motion, Growth and Development of Ecosystems, Inheritance, and Changes in Organisms Over Time.

In math, you will be using a platform called Envisions, as well as other online resources through google classroom to help individualize student learning. You will take three online diagnostic assessments through i-ready to see how much you know and how much you still need to learn. By taking this assessment, it will tailor material that is best suited for you to help you throughout the year.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know each one of you. I am sure we will have some bumps along the way but we will be okay!
