Using an iPad, I created a video featuring a collection of pictures. The video showcases some of my favorite images, and I enjoyed organizing them in a creative way. The iPad made it easy to edit and arrange the photos into a smooth sequence. This project allowed me to express my creativity while learning new video-making skills. It was a fun experience combining technology with my love for visual storytelling.
During this process, I learned valuable skills in video making, including how to add voiceovers and background music to my videos. Experimenting with these features helped improve the quality and creativity of my project. I enjoyed learning how to combine visuals with sound to create a more engaging experience. This experience also taught me how technology can enhance storytelling in unique ways.
The seven standards of our class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project relates to the Knowledge Constructor and Computational Thinker standards because I had to solve problems and explore different methods to create my video. I researched various techniques to enhance my video, which required critical thinking and creativity. This process helped me understand how to effectively construct knowledge and apply it to my project.
One challenge I overcame during this project was learning how to create the video itself. I sought help from my classmates and friends, who provided guidance and support. Their assistance made the process much easier and helped me gain confidence in my video-making skills. By collaborating with others, I was able to overcome obstacles and successfully complete my project
If I had the chance to do this project again, I would change the voiceovers and music. I realized that I barely had enough time to select the right music and ended up with options that I didn’t really like. I discovered better songs after completing the project, which made me wish I had more time to explore my choices. Improving the audio elements would enhance the overall quality of the video and make it more enjoyable to watch.
The Hastings High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) Program has many cool courses like Agriculture, Business Management, and Computer Programming. I’m focusing on Digital Multimedia for my project because I had to create videos. It's a great way to learn about video production and storytelling!
My project connects to careers in filmmaking, particularly as a movie director, because I am creating videos, adding voiceovers, and incorporating music. These skills are essential for directing, as they involve storytelling, sound design, and visual creativity. By working on this project, I gain practical experience in the filmmaking process, which is valuable for pursuing a career in this field. It allows me to explore my passion for video production and develop the technical skills necessary for success in the industry.
