I am doing this first project alone meaning I didn't have a partner help me.
The materials I need for this project are a micro bit, some wires to connect it to the computer and speaker, a speaker, and of course the computer.
I'm planning on trying to make the micro bit make sound using speakers and code.
A unique quality my project has is that I get to use speakers and learn how the are used to make sounds.
my project steps.
my first code for the sound, I used my headphones that I connected to the wires in order to test the code. In this code I tried to make it so when I shook it it would make sound, this didn't work well and I learned that it was a bad idea.
This is day 2's model of the code, I used a button instead of shaking it and it worked way better, now I'm gonna do a little messing and get ready for the speaker.
Today was day three on my project and unfortunately I could not get anything done because I was having trouble connecting the micro bit to the computer.
This was my final product of the micro bit making sound through a speaker, it was connected to a large speaker through wires and was programmed to emit a little song through the speaker.
My reflection
Using micro bits, I created a sound system because I wanted to learn how speakers work.
During this process, I learned how the speaker is connected to the computer and what it looks like without the cover when its going.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner, knowledge constructor, and computational thinker because I had to learn on my own and chose to learn, I also had to use my knowledge on previous projects with micro bits in order figure out this one, another thing I needed to do was figure out the steps of my project before I tried at my final project by testing on my headphones.
A challenge I overcame on this project was figuring out why my code kept overlapping in a way that caused it to not work.. I was able to overcome this by changing my code, playing around different versions until i found something that worked.
Given a chance to do this again, I would use different connection cords. The reason why I would them is because I spent a whole day fiddling with a broken cord and didn't get anything done, it had not occurred to me that I could just get a new cord.
