Are you working by yourself or in a team? I am working in a team.
What materials will you need for your project? Tools.
What is your plan to create in this project? We plan to fix an old chromebook and download linux os.
What unique qualities will your project have? Reverse engineering projects typically result in taking apart things. With our project, we will be making a Chromebook usable again.
Day 1
We searched for a functioning chromebook in reverse engineering to wipe. We found one that couldn't hold charge but we still used it.
Day 2
Aiden attempted to get linux on the chromebook but to no avail. I also tried to do research on the topic but just came up with the same stuff which Aiden already tried.
Day 3
We keep trying but the chromebook is still the same from when we found it.
Day 4
Although we still did not have Linux on the chromebook we made significant progress. Aiden managed to wipe the chromebook so it was no longer controlled by the school. The picture above shows an unauthorized account that shouldn't be on the chromebook.
Day 5
We continue to try but still fail. Even after trying many different sources we were not able to port Linux on the chromebook. This project was still a great learning experience.
Using ____a scrap chromebook and google____________, I created __a chromebook with Linux on it__________ because___I thought it was a unique project. In addition, It sounded like a great learning experience. Me and my partner did not end up completing the original goal but we still learned a lot._________________________.
During this process, I learned __how to wipe the school's control from a chromebook. Furthermore, I learned ___a lot of tech terms which I did not know before. Learning these terms helped me make more progress on my project.__________________The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to _______Knowledge Constructor ________________ because __we used effective research strategies in order to find information for our own purpose. In addition, because there was so much info on the internet, we had to compare our resources and info in order to find out which ones were more reliable.__________________.
A challenge I overcame on this project was __not knowing where to start or what I was doing________________. I was able to do it by _____doing extensive research and using the teacher for help. The teacher gave us a starting point and our research allowed us to build upon that starting point.__________________.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change ___my methods of research._________________________________. The reason why I would change it is because _____we did not succeed in completing our main objective. Maybe if we were to employ better research methods we would have found the answers we were seeking._______________.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the __computer programming ____________ CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in ___computer programming. Sometimes referred to as software developers, computer programmers make a good living, but your pay is dependent on where you are located. The industry continues to grow and salaries are only rising.________
