Using Hot Wheels Speedomentry , Gavin, Quentine,David and I created a hot wheels track that had loops, jumps, and went under things and then jumped again. We had one loop, two jumps and when we stared the car we clipped it to the wall so it had a better starting also, we had the track go under a stool and them jump again because we wanted a challenge because we needed it to be the perfect amount of steepness for it to work so it would be able to jump.
We created a hot wheels track because, we all thought it would be super fun to create tracks again because we haven't used them sense we were super little.During this process, I learned how to make the cars jump and race each other and we learned that it is more difficult than it seems to build a track because you need to have the right steepness and durability for the track to be successful it did however, take us to figure out the right steepness and durability.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because we chose what we wanted to do. Computational Thinker because we needed to think to do it.Creative Communicator because in order to create this we needed to talk to each other to discuss what we were doing.
A challenge we overcame on this project was getting it to start high enough so it would go through the whole track without stopping we were able to do it by just movie the track up higher and higher until it worked it took like 7 times until we got it but then we figured it out.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change to make it so two cars could race at the same time to see which one would finish first. . The reason why I would change it is because I think it would be cool to have the cars race. This project connect to careers in Project Design, Hot Wheels Entertainment,Full Stack Developer and Sales Associate.
This is what our track looked like at the end when we merged all the videos together.
