Saxon Den

Using Tinker Cad and the 3D printer Quentine and I created a key chain that has our school logo which is an H with the word Saxons across because we are the Hastings Saxons. We wanted to create a key chain in our Saxon den because we thought lots of people would want to purchase a key chain and we thought it would be cool for people to have an option of having a key chain that they can wear.It was Quentines idea for the key chain but I came up with putting the word Saxons across the H because I think more people would want to buy it if it had the word Saxons because it makes it look cooler and it just fits better because we are the Hastings Saxons.

During this process, I learned how to put two shapes together to make our Saxon logo because we had to add four squares to the edges of our H because our logo is more of a box shape.Also, we had to figure out how to put the word Saxons across the H without it falling off we had to group it so it would stay on the H while it was being printed.We learned that it was easier to just type the word Saxons across the H because we started to write on but it just wasn't turning out how we wanted so we decided to just type the word Saxons on it and it turned out better and was a lot easier.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because we got to chose what we got to design for the Saxon Den also, my project ties to Knowledge Constructor because we had to think to create the H logo.Those are the 2 standards my project ties to.

A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to figure out how to put the word Saxons on the H logo because we started to write it on there but it wasn't going how Quentine and I wanted it to we were able to fix our problem by just typing the word Saxons on our H logo instead of writing it we decided just to type it on there because it looked nicer and was just a lot easier.Another problem we had was getting the blocks on our H because we had to make sure all the blocks were the same size and looked nice but we figured it out by using the measuring tool on Tinker Cad.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the color of the logo. The reason why I would change it is because if lots of people do like our key chain they might want a different color so they would have a choice of what color they would want to purchase.Something else I would want to change is maybe putting the graduating class at the bottom of the H because it would have more meaning and I feel like people would like it better.
