Day 1: Made my list of 25
Day 2: made Play-Doh shapes
Day 3: Tested wiring
Day 4: started the controller
Day 5: worked on the controller and fixed wiring
Day 6: Added to the controller's design
Using Makey-Makey and foil I created a game controller because my partner and I thought it would be the most fun to make a controller. Another reason we did this is because it seemed easy enough so that we wouldn't go over the deadline.
During this process, I learned that tinfoil is better at conducting electricity than Play-Doh. I also learned that you have to make sure the alligator clips are in or attached to the material you are using. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I had to use my prior knowledge on electricity conduction to decide which material we would use.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the materials I used at first did not conduct electricity. I was able to do it by figuring out which materials that we had would conduct electricity. Another way I solved this was by trying a different approach to some of the materials.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the beginning of our project. The reason why I would change it is because we started a project that, in the end, we didn't use. Another reason I would change it is because our first project took more time than expected.
