Planning questions
I am working by myself with the exception of a little bit of help.
I will need Tinker pad and my brain.
My plan is to make a weird looking guy, for no reason.
He will be goofy looking with a big mustache and eyes that are two different sizes.
Using my planning and understanding of 3-D, I created a weird mustache guy because I thought it would be fun to just mess around with. He was supposed to be a creature type thing, but I thought it would be a good laugh if he looked weird. I never stuck to the plan, cause its boring and I want to improve.
During this process, I learned when using a 3-D website you might need help or prior knowledge because right when I got in it was kind of confusing. I also learned that you need a plan about what your going to make and stuff so that its the way you want it to be. After this project I understood that my project didn't turn out the way that I was hoping for. Once my thing was printed it didn't have any color and I had to peel off a lot of extra stuff.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I now know that you always have to have a plan an I learned from my mistakes. Now I have knowledge about how 3-D printers work and the complexity of the machine.
A challenge I overcame on this project was half way through figuring out what I was gonna do. I was able to do it by making a plan up quick and tried to make it as good as I possibly could. I also had to make sure I had the right things on the site to be able to print my guy.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the figure of my guy because I thought he was to plain and simple. The reason why I would change it is because I could have made him a different shape and he would look even funnier. I thought the details on his body though (eyes, hat, mustache, and shoes) were pretty cool. Especially the narrowed eyebrows above the eyes, it makes him look angry.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in a toy maker, someone that tests stuff, and a manufacturer.
