7P1 - Video Project

Reflection

• Using iMovie and an iPad, I created a movie about volleyball because I like to play and watch volleyball. Volleyball is a competitive sport and definitely keeps you on your toes. Volleyball is my favorite sport and I know a lot about volleyball, so I decided to make a movie about something I know a lot about.

• During this process, I learned how to transition one picture to another on iMovie. I also learned how to add music/sound effects to my movie. Lastly, I learned its okay to make mistakes.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to empowered learner because I used new apps to learn how to create a short movie and learn new ways to make my movie better each time. I also followed directions carefully and made sure things were done correctly.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was learning it was okay to make mistakes and fixing them. I was able to do it by thinking of new ways to change my mistake into a new possibility. Some of my mistakes I made, are now my favorite parts of my movie.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change using picture's of all different teams instead of just one. The reason why I would change it is because it would show other people looking at my website a variety of volleyball teams. And would show they're skills.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the digital media CTE program at Hastings High School.  My project connects to careers in director.
