Using the 3D printer, I created a key chain that says Hastings Saxons with a little Michigan on it. I made this because i think people would like to have it. Its not to small and not to big that it will look weird.
During this process i learned how to use tinker cad and make objects such as the key chain.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to show creative communication because it tells people that we are from Hastings and are proud to be a Saxon.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making the loop the right size and not making it to big and keeping it small enough that the printer can make it and that the key chain looks good. I was able to make this work because i kept trying and learning from my mistakes.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the placement of my words because when I print it the letters we to close or they were touching the the Michigan. The reason I would change this is because it would look better and people could read the letters if they wanted to.
This project connects with other careers because some other careers make new thinks and lots of places use 3D printers to make things and the marketing class at the high school connects with Career and Technical Education Program because they both use the internet.
