Using parts from an old monitor, I created a tiki totem because the people I was going against were making vehicles and I decided to go a different route and make something different then a vehicle.
During this process, I learned that there are a lot of batteries inside of a monitor.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I turned a old monitor into something unique and new.
A challenge I overcame on this project was not liking what I made. I was able to do it by remaking it into something I like.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how much time I used on the project. The reason why I would change it is because I feel like I could have used more of my time into this project.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in waste recycling because I turned a monitor into something new.
