Planning Questions:
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I am working in a team.
What materials will you need for your project?
A computer/iPad, Cardboard,
What is your plan to create in this project?
We are creating a cardboard versoin of the game Hungry Hungry Hippos.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I think out project is a unique idea that (Probably) no one else came up with.
Today we watched videos explaining the project.
Today I picked my partner and we made a list of ten good ideas for our project.
Today we made the base of our game and began to add some things.
Today we started working on the hippos, stand for our game, and used popsicle sticks to make the hippos move.
Today we added a platform to elevate our box. We also painted the inside of our box.
We began on the rest of our hippos and added some more details and things to build.
I was not here, but my partner worked on the base of the hippos.
I again was not here, but my partner painted the entire game.
We made the hippos function and move, we made a divider at the bottom of the box, and we added the instructions.
Using cardboard, I created Hungry Hungry Hippos because my group all agreed on it.
During this process, I learned how to make a hippo out of cardboard, and never use permanent markers on something you want to not mess up on.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because I designed the project and constructed it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was our hippos kept getting destroyed, the glue gun kept running out of glue, and we got paint everywhere. I was able to do it by Rebuilding the hippos, taking more than one glue stick at a time, and painting more carefully.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the paint job. The reason why I would change it is because I didn't think the colors worked great.
