Plan to create: play dough piano
Unique quality that will separate your project: Our project is a piano made out of play dough
Using play dough and a makey makey, my group created a play dough piano. We created this because we wanted to try and create something cool with play dough. We also created this because we like to listen to music and play with play dough and create things with play dough.
During this process I learned how to use a makey makey. I also learned how to put an app code on the makey makey. Another thing I learned how to use play dough to make piano noises with a makey makey. I also learned the best way to put the clips on the makey makey and play dough so that it would work.
A challenge I overcame on this project is the play dough playing the piano music. Another challenge I over came on this project was finding the correct code and a code that would work for the piano. I over came the challenge by finding the correct working piano code. I overcame the other challenge by changing the shape of the play dough and the way the clips were in the play dough.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to global collaborator. My project connects to this class standard because I worked with others. It also connects to this class standard because we used different sites/ technologies to create our project. It also connects to this class standard because I worked with two class mates for this project.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to engineering design because I created something with my hands. It connects to careers in making play dough creations or clay creations like those that are in museums or that you can be in a contest or at a play dough factory. It connects to this because we created a piano with play dough.
This is the coding we used
This is what our project looked like (we had to change the play dough)
