7P1 Cardboard

Using cardboard, I created a ball pit with a basketball hoop. We made this because our group likes basketball and we wanted to have a fun project. We also made this because it combines two things that a lot of people like to play basketball or play in a ball pit. During this process, I learned how to make balls out of aluminum foil. I also learned how to make a door with two cardboard pieces. Another thing I learned that working together is more fun than by yourself. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Creative Communicator.My project ties to this because we made something original for our project. A challenge I overcame on this project was using the duct tape because it kept getting stuck together. Another challenge was deciding what we wanted to make because we were going to make a truck, house, boat, but we decided on our project the basketball hoop in a ball pit. I was able to do it by being more careful and using scissors and having someone help me use it. Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I put the boxes together and how I made the aluminum balls. I would also change how we made the door. The reason why I would change it is because it would have been easier and looked nicer. Also it would have not been so weird for the height difference. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering and design CTE program at Hastings High School. It connects to this because I worked hard and made this project. My project connects to careers in Architect because I built a project.
