Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
Myself
What materials will you need for your project?
3d printer , computer , iPad and Tinker CAD
What is your plan to create in this project?
I plan to work 5-6 days to create a working hairbrush with a planter with a water catch on the bottom.
What unique qualities will your project have?
I will create a object that solves a world problem.
1.Pencil Holder
2.Stop sign
3.Key Rack
4.Hair Brush
5.Vase
6.Coffee Mug
7.Fidget Toy
8.Book Mark
9.Planter
10.Glasses
Day 1
Planned out my idea and started my website.
Day 2
Figured out my idea to create my creation.
Day 3
Started building the base of my creation.
Day 4
Added the bottom so water won't spill out.
Day 5
Made sure all of the sides lined up.
Day 6
Turned in my STL and Mr.Renner printed my creation.
Started the base of my shape. And added the hole for the water.
Added a ring to hold the top up.
hole so the plant could fit in the top.
Added the top where the plant would go in at.
What the ring looks like under the top with no bottom*
Adjusted the size to 3 inches and made it more straight.
My finished project.
Using Tinker CAD I created a planter pot with a water catcher because every time I get a new plant, then pore water into it, all the water I put in leaks all over my dresser. I made this to solve a problem with leaky planters.
During this process, I learned how to put my STL in my project to turn in, in Google Classroom. I did this by going on Mr. Renner site and looking at the video that shows you how to do the STL.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Global Collaborator and Creative Communicator because First I use my friend Olivia's website to get some new ideas and shared my whole project to the whole world. Next, my project ties to Creative Communicator because I used a new technologies with a design process to solve a problem by creating a new solution which is my water stopper in my planter.
A challenge I overcame on this project was be able to overcome trying to get the shapes in the perfect spot and straight. I was able to do it by asking my peers, looking on different websites and really just experimented with it. Another challenge i overcame was getting the STL. I overcame this by using a recourse around me. (Mr.Renner)
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how the planter is so uneven. The reason why I would change it is because it makes the planter look lopsided but its only a 3 inch project. So if next time if i get to do this i would try to make a bigger better shape.
