A unique quality are project will have is having two hoops instead of one hoop.
I started to plan my project by answering the planing questions and coming up with 10 good ideas.
We made the backbord and made tinfoil balls and taped the rim to the backboard.
We made the legs for the hoop and made squares and extra support
We made the legs and started to attach them to the hoop.
Over the weekend we came back and our legs were destroyed. So we made a back stop to hold it up.
We added strings to the backboard to hold it up. Then we took pictures and a video.
reflection
Using cardboard, duck tape, tinfoil, and scissors, I created a mini arcade basketball game because I really like basketball. Also, I have been playing it for most of my life. Another reason I did this was that I really like arcade games, and I like going to the arcade. The last reason I made this was that it was not to hard to make.
During this process, I learned that for the hoop to stay up I had to attach string to it on the back to pull the hoop down. I also learned to move my project away from others. I would do this because are project got stepped on and ruined. Also, I learned to put a lot of tape on weak spots of the cardboard.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovation Designer because I made a project without a plan. and without instructions so we had to just go for it. My project also ties to Empowered Learner because I was the one too chose to put a lot of my energy to finish our hoop and didn't let my partners do all of it.
A challenge I overcame on this project was holding the backboard up and not having it lean over because there was not enough weight in the front. I was able to do it by attaching strings to the top of the backboard and taping it to the bottom of the hoop. I made sure to thoroughly so the hoop would not it tip forward. This would keep the hoop standing up straight _and stabel.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change __the _balls and wrap them more in tin foil or use something else for them. The reason why I would change it is because the tin foil balls were to small. I would make them bigger because they were very hard to hold and shoot because they were so tiny. I also would maybe colored the balls orange to make them look more like a real basketball.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in product designer because they design and make things out of stuff that people do not use that much. Also, they made a lot of money and design very tuff things.
