Using The Circuit Express, I created a few different projects, these projects all display basic things you can do using the ad fruit. I did this because I wanted to show the the use of stuff like Ad fruit and let people see what block code can do. Block code is usually viewed as a simple coding system that couldn't be complex, but in this project, I wanted to prove people wrong and show them that anyone can make many complex things using blocks.
During this process, I learned that there is math involved in coding. block codes such as logic and math to make more complex code than just 1 input. This helped me learn to make randomly generated machines like my button flipper, which makes it feel like you are doing more than just pressing a button. Using these categories makes people feel like anything could appear due to the randomly generated number. when people use math and logic helped me to expand my code more than others had.
Out of the 7 standards, which includes the following Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. I think that my project ties to Knowledge Constructor, I think this because I used the resources given to me on Make Code to make my knowledge grow by giving me new tools to use. For example, I learned about stuff like the music feature, and light feature, learned in depth about sound features and I used some stuff in the light section to try and make a knowledge bubble in my head for the code I wanted to make. This let me get more out of this project, learning more and expanding my knowledge from more than just the light, input, and sound sections.
A challenge I overcame on this project was thinking of stuff I wanted to make in my project. I was able to do it by looking around the website for Adafruit, doing this I looked at tutorials to figure out what the section meaning I was able to overcome the challenge I had. Fixing this challenge let me make more projects than probably would have been able to without it ,but I could probably still have gotten 6, they would just be lower quality. This lets me make more interactive projects that make people use it with more than 1 click.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change my project ideas. Although my projects were great, I found them to lack some of the features the ad fruit provided which made them feel kind of dull and smaller than I knew they could have. This could have probably been fixed if I didn't mess around for 2 days I did, this could have let me learn more about Ad fruit even though it feels like 2 days is minimal. This would let me learn a lot more about the categories and their code actions and how I could use them to make a more in-depth project with pins, other stuff.
Hastings High School offers many courses, including stuff such as Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming CTE program at Hastings High School. I think Computer Programming connects to my program because I had to use block code to make my project function, I could have also used the other script but i didnt I didn't. Overall I think my project connects to Computer programming because it shows that I made the Ad fruit use the code I sent to it via the computer to make it play off the code.
My project connects to careers in Programming because my project was coding the Ad fruit to do the things I desired, when making the code I had to use my creative thinking to plan out my plan for the code I wanted to construct and how it would appear on the Circuit Express. After doing this, I would go onto the website provided to test out my idea and see if it works, if there is a good start then I just tweak the code here and there until I find the code functioning to my liking. If I find issues such as an idea I have not working due to the block code not having such functions to fulfill my idea, I would simply make a new version; However, if this doesn't seem to work the second attempt, I would decide to make a new idea that is completely new that has the potential to replace my old one.
just messed around
i made a siren
I just mest around still figuring out the mechanics
i made chrismas lights
i made clap lights
