IMG_0001.MOVThis was the first video for my VR world. One thing I really liked about it was the outcome of the VR world. I this project was not very easy to do, and took patients and a lot of frustration in the process of the makings, But the outcome was spectacular and better than I even imagined it would be. Another part I really like about this project, was the characters. I liked a lot of the characters designs and movements that they did. Some of the characters I made, had a conflict or an argument that was starting. I like how I was also able to have some of the characters floating in the air like what I did with the girl who was Greek and had tablets floating around her. I really liked those parts to the characters, It really makes it seem like the characters have a little bit of life and action to them. Although, with every good thing there is a not so good side. One thing I didn't really like about this video was how there wasn't a screen recorder that I could use to record off of the computer. For the recording process I had to put the tablet under my chin, which was very uncomfortable. I really felt like the tablet was getting enough footage from the angle I was at and, I also felt like the the camera was too high or low to get any of the action. Still, this video did turn out very well and I am proud that it did.
In this picture, I decided to have a woman who has just discovered, that she can use her abilities, This woman's abilities are summoning lightning bolts. everybody around this woman are cheering because they have all found their abilities and now another person has as well. The woman is very happy to know that others care that she found her abilities. She displays her lightning in her palms as a small ball of energy and the shine form the energy transfers onto her skin. The crowd starts to get more riled up and starts to scream and cheer and clap for her. One thing that I like about this picture is that I was able to have other people to surround her and clap and jump up and down with joy. This picture was very fun to make and I really enjoyed making it. I felt really happy to make it and I felt a lot of joy and pride to do it.
In this picture, we can see two young women named "Marie" and "Louise" watching over the city. They are big celebrities' and are always being talked about. They cannot go down to the grass. If they where to go to the grass the they would be bombarded with fans. They stay up on the platform and peacefully watch over their people. The part with making this scene was getting the characters to a certain position without them floating off the edge. You can sorta see that the green-dressed girl is near the edge. This mainly because she was harder to see when being placed down, I couldn't exactly see if they were on the edge or not so I took wild guess. I also made the girls' dresses different colors because the color is meant to represent how the two are different people. I used the same character for two different people. One thing I really liked about this picture is that it actually looks like the girls are looking out to everyone. You can also see the other city folk having fun or doing something.
This picture shows a Greek girl floating upside down and doing codes on her tablet. I named this girl "Glitch" mainly because she can fly and likes to have technology around herself. I made her fly because it looks the funniest and the coolest. One thing I liked about this picture was the stance she was in. This was pretty cool to me because, I was able to have her be holding a tablet and a phone while floating in the air upside down. Another thing I really liked about this picture is how she sticks our from the others. Other characters have a standing on the ground. The others have normal clothes on and look like a normal, average everyday person, and then there is just her that sticks out.
In this project I learned how to make a VR World. For my VR world I made a city that is home to many of the weirdest people around. I made this because I really like the city side and the living style there. One thing I really liked about this project was the fact that we could make anything we wanted. We could literally make anything we wanted in this project. We could make a cowboy riding a unicorn, we could make a dinosaur pulling Santa's sleigh. I loved the fact that wit this project we could let our imagination soar and spark away. I loved the parts about how we could make the characters actually move and have context. It really made the character's seem like they actually had a shred of life to them and that the things they were doin really seem real.
As amazing as this project was, there is still a not so good side to it as well. I would change how the characters only stayed in one spot. I really wanted the cats and the women chasing after them to be actually moving and walking around the city. Another thing I didn't really like was the amount of time this project took. I felt like this project took way longer than it should have taken. I also found it very frustrating getting the characters to the right angle and right place while the camera movement kept on malfunctioning and not working properly and going very slowly. I would also change the objects inside the city. I noticed that there where more of people than anything else and I would want to change that. I would wan there to be tree's or giant boulders all around with people playing on them.
I really liked this project a lot and found it nice to let my creativity shine and make a world that I have always wanted to make. I would recommend this project to anyone who has patients and creativity. Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer programming, because a VR world requires a coding process. A coding process is connected to the Computer programing category. CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in Computer Programing.
