Empowered Learner
As an empowered learner I should be able to set a learning goal and reflect on if I have achieved my goal or not. I should also be able to choose tools I need to achieve my goal and tell whether I am making progress toward my goal. I must collaborate online to learn new things and I will advocate for the best learning environment for myself. I will be able to tell when a program worked as it was expected to and I will be allowed to use a network of classmates to help my learning process.
Digital Citizen
A digital citizen should be able to responsibly choose what to share on social medias to create an online reputation and they should be able to explain how things posted online is permanent and cannot be deleted. Something else a digital citizen should be able to do is use the internet responsibly and use netiquette when communicating online. Some more things digital citizens should be able to do is follow the laws of social networks and they can articulate how treating others with respect in person or online is their responsibility. Two more things they should be able to do is check a websites accuracy by using research skills and be able to tell the difference between personal and private information. Another two are explain what online cookies are and be able to decide if they want to continue using or not using a website with cookies and can explain why a computer would need an antivirus and security software.
Knowledge Constructor
A knowledge constructor is somebody who can use a search engine to find needed information online and access online catalogs and databases to research. They should also use a browser’s history feature to locate sites visited before and use the browser's search tools and advanced search features to find information. A knowledge constructor should be able to use hyperlinks within web pages or documents and use a variety of sources when doing research. They should also ask questions about a topic that they are researching so they will get help explore real-world issues and understand them well.
Innovative Designer
An innovative designer should be able to use technology to communicate with others outside of school to help identify and understand a global topic and ask questions about an authentic topic. They should also brainstorm ideas for the questions that they may have and stay with a task until they have completed it. Innovated designers should also be able to use the design process to solve authentic problems and make a plan to answer a question they might have. They should also be able to test out a plan for answering a question and improve their test to get better results answering the question.
Computational Thinker
A Computational Thinker should be able to use technology tools to present solutions to a problem they solved and identify the more important information in a problem. They should also use technology tools to create models and be able to define and describe algorithms. Computational Thinkers should also be able to build a game or tell a story using a simple visual programming interface and brainstorm the solutions to problems. They should also explain how computers use patterns to process and sort information and define and describe automation.
Creative Communicator.
A Creative Communicator is someone who should be able to identify the best digital tool for working in a group project and choose the best digital tool to share their work with others. They should also be able to find the best digital tool to create an original piece of work and use parts of other works to create new original pieces of work. Creative Communicators should also be able to give credit to the component authors in a collaborative creation and explain how to use other's works in a way that doesn’t infringe on copyright and intellectual property rules. They should also be able to present an idea using a digital tool and make adjustments to make a presentation appropriate for multiple audiences.
Global Collaborator.
A Global Collaborator is someone who is able to use a digital tool to interact with others and use digital tools to develop an understanding of different perspectives. They should also be able to connect with their peers using collaborative technologies and learn about issues and problems around the world using digital tools. Global Collaborators would also be able to gain a border perspective when reflecting on collaborating with others and contributing to group projects. They would also be able to be a reliable member of their group and help their group meet their common learning goal by fulfilling the responsibilities of their role in the group.
