8P4 - adafruit

Using the Adafruit, I created a song from a game I played because of these reasons. Reason one is the song came from a game I used to play in 6th grade. Reason two is throughout all of my time playing that game I liked this song the most. My last Reason is I was reminded of this song when my friends mentioned another song from the same game. Those are the reasons why I chose to make a song from the game I used to play.

During this process, I learned these things. The first thing I learned was how to make a light show on the Adafruit. I learned how to make the light show by messing around with the lights until I made a way for the lights to move then I used that to make them move around. Another thing I learned was how to make a song using the Adafruits code blocks. I learned how to make the song by using a search engine to find the notes to use, the beat, and the tempo.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to knowledge constructor because I used the search engine to find out how to play the notes to a song then I took those notes and made them play on the Adafruit. Another reason I believe that my project ties to it is while looking I looked at multiple sites to find multiple pieces of information such as the tempo, the notes, and the beat.

A challenge I overcame on this project was finding how to set the tempo of the song. I was able to do it by looking up the song finding a site and looking through it until I found the tempo. I managed to find the tempo by using Google to find more information on the song and not just the notes. Another challenge I overcame was finding the right pitch for the song I fixed it by going through a couple of the notes until I found what I liked then I went through and changed the pitch for every note by I forgot the start.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how the song sounds. The reason why I would change it is that the start of the song sounds weird but it does go back to normal. Another reason would be that I would have wanted to finish the lights and make them cooler instead of just flashing. My last reason is that the pitch of the first couple of notes was way higher than the rest of the song. 

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing.  My project connects to the Computer programming CTE program at Hastings High School. I believe that this ties to it for these two reasons provided. Reason one is coding blocks are close to being the base of learning how to code. The second reason is in high school in the computer programming CTE program I would assume we would code things to do tasks and we did that today with the Adafruit but much simpler.

My project connects to careers in coding because I coded an Adafruit to do things. I believe that they tie together because the coding of the Adafruit is simple coding even though coding would have needed the javascript type of coding. Another reason would be that when coding it usually makes something do a certain task you would like it to do and in this project I used blocks meant for coding to make my Adafriuit play a song.
