Statue of a Character I will be working in a group of
Mushroom three including myself, Lylah, and
Mask Lena.
Castle/ Kingdom We will need cardboard, scissors
Animal statue hot glue, paper, pencils, tape,
Backdrop plastic, and tin foil to work on this
Snowflake/Flower Chain project.
Arcade Machine We plan to be creating a statue of a
An Umbrella Korok from legends of Zelda.
A Throne Our project will have the unique
qualities of making a detailed
game character.
Day 1. I Got in my group and discussed the 10 Ideas.
Day 2. My group and I wrote down our List of 10, Planning Questions, and found a reference image.
Day 3. My group and I started tracing and cutting out the Korok's mask. We also made most of the Korok's umbrella but have't yet glued it together.
Day 4. My group and glued together the Korok's umbrella. We then started on making the Korok's body with cardboard and hot glue.
Day 5. My group and I continued gluing together the Korok's body together as we didn't have much time. We were doing fixes that day.
Day 6. My group and I finished constructing the Korok's body. We also made its arms, legs, and horns and attached all but the horns to the body. Lena took home the main body of the Korok to paint. Lylah took home the platform and the Korok's umbrella to paint.
Day 7. My group and I glued on the Korok's horns and umbrella. Lylah also brought us a stick which we glued to the Korok's other hand. We filmed our Korok. We added audio to the video of our Korok. We cut out certain bits of the audio. We then added a soundtrack to the video.
Day 8. I worked on my Reflection and adding a few details to my website. I added the Daily Log pictures and the video.
Using cardboard, hot glue, paper, paint, and a stick My group and I created a Korok from Legends of Zelda. We made this because we like Koroks and think they are cute. We also really liked the woodland theme for our project.
During this process I learned how to make a rounded figure out of cardboard. I learned how to get hot glue to stick to cardboard better. I also learned how to attach cardboard to rounded cardboard.
My project ties to Innovative Designer because My group and I created something from scratch without having a blueprint. This project also ties to Empowered Learner because My group and I were able to set daily goals of what we wanted to get done with our Korok every day and assess whether or not we were achieving those goals. Our project also ties to Global Collaborator becuse we created something to share with the world and put it on a website.
A challenge we overcame on this process was the glue not sticking to the cardboard. We needed to overcome this challenge because if we didn't, the Korok would not have been able to be rounded. We overcame it by taking off the excess glue around where we were gluing as it wouldn't stick as well to the glue. I also had to hold my finger down on the cardboard longer.
Given a chance to do this again I would change our time management. I would change this because, even though we got the project done in time, we were stressed for time. We also didn't get to add as many details as we hoped.
My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program. It connects to it in that we created something from scratch, that is engineering and designing. My project connects to careers in Packaging Engineer, Automatic Cardboard Folding Machine Design and Sr. Paper Engineer.
