Design thinking is a human-centered process. It isn’t linear; the team can circle back to previous suggestions or points as they refine their ideas. It is empathy driven, starting with actually and deeply understanding the users of the design’s problems, challenges, and perspectives. It uses rapid testing and prototyping to move ideas forward as quickly as possible and get and learn from real-world feedback. It has five phases: empathizing, defining, brainstorming, prototyping, and testing.
