Reflection

• Using an iPad and the app iMovie, I created a video about my hobbies, pets, interests and favorite things. I made it about those things because it's about me and those things are important to me. Those things are important to me because they make up who I am.

• During this process, I learned how to use iMovie. I learned how to add pictures, transitions, filters, sound effects, and voiceovers. I learned how to use them by following instructions.

• The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Empowered Learner because I was the one making the decisions on what to add and how to do it, taking an active role in my project. It also ties to Digital Citizen because I used Creative Commons photos and was aware of the effect my actions had.

• A challenge I overcame on this project was not knowing how to add sound effects and background music. I was able to do it by asking people. I overcame it pretty quickly.

• Given a chance to do this again, I would change the filters not matching. The reason why I would change it is because, while I liked them not matching at first, in hindsight I don't like it as much as I did. I would've maybe changed some of the sound effects.

• Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing.  My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School. My project ties to Digital Multimedia because it deals with making videos, which is digital media.

• My project connects to careers in video production and editing. It connects to those careers because those career paths and this project deal with similar skills. I'd probably work for an editing company if I pursued a career in vifdeo production or editing.
