Planning Questions

Are you working by yourself or in a team?

By myself.

What materials will you need for your project?

The website for VR and an iPad.

What is your plan to create in this project?

A virtual world.

What unique qualities will your project have?

It's a functioning solar system.

Day One:

I decided on space and have started making it.

Day Two:

I've started coding the planets to rotate.

Day Three:

I finished coding the planets to rotate, now I am coding them to go around the sun.

Day Four:

Making the planets all turn and go around the sun is a work in progress.

Day Five:

I haven't been able to get the planets to all go around the sun at the same time. I also adjusted the placement of the planets.

Day Six:

I deleted the code for the planets going around the sun because I wasn't able to figure out how to make them go around at the same time. However, they still rotate.

The Video

Here is a video of the VR world. The planets turn two at a time because I wasn't able to turn them all at the same time due to how the 'Run Parallel' piece works.

Reflection Questions

Using Delightex, I created the solar system because I like space and thought it was cool.
During this process, I learned how to code VR and use it.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Knowledge Constructor because I was looking for instructions and videos on how to use the code.
A challenge I overcame on this project was making all the planets turn at the same time. I was able to do it by using the parallel tool.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change the thought process behind making the planets go around the sun. The reason why I would change it is because I spent so long on it just to give up.

My project connects to the Digital Multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in coding because I coded animations to work.
