Design thinking consists of 5 cycling steps to help you solve a problem based off a consumers needs, not yours. It's one of the top best designing process you could use. It requires a creative mind but almost everyone can do it. Design thinking all starts with step 1, empathize. You need to see what your consumer wants by "falling in love with them" now I don't mean to literally fall in love with them but more of shadowing them, and see through their eyes. This step really gives you an idea about your consumer. Once you identify their biggest problem you go into step 2, Define. See what they see and identify their needs, gains, and pains. Usually the best idea that comes from observing your consumer, is the one least obvious. The reason you do this is because you want to produce the best product you can for your customer. Once you have a couple of ideas you go into step 3, ideate. Ideate means to find solutions to those problems. The best way to figure out how to solve those problems is to look for all possible solutions, even some crazy ones. Then try to fit those ideas custom made into the customers request or problem. After the ideate step you go into step 4, Prototype. Prototype means to bring your ideas to life, but it has to be the cheapest way possible. Then after step 4 you go right into step 5, Test. Test is one of the last steps to design thinking and in which means to show your customer the product and get ideas, feedback, and criticism. After receiving those 3 things you repeat the process to make a better prototype for your customer. Some people repeat the Design Thinking Process over and over to create the best results for the customer.
