This is my co-spaces world. It includes dinosaurs, unicorns, and deer.
This is a close up on my world from the right side of the previous picture.
The video to the right is my Co-spaces Project in simulation.
Using Co-spaces I created virtual reality world in which there was dinosaurs, birds, unicorns, mice, deer, and witches were fighting in outer space. The reason I created this is to just experiment with the app and try to duplicate items and change their colors along with moving them around to my desired position. I also created this because I wanted to see, through virtual world, what a battle with dinosaurs would look like.
During the process I learned mostly how to program a single item, for instance, you could program a witch to cast a spell or make a dinosaur run. You could also make them do multiple moves like run then stop and lay down. I also learned how to import an image from google and make it the ground that you place your items on.
7 standards that are ether, an Empowered learner, Innovative Designer, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to an empowered learner. This is because I learned how to create my project by the tutorial and somewhat of experimenting with the app. When I first started I mentally set a goal to learn most of the ins and outs of the project in which I did, from this It falls into the Empowered Learner.
A challenge I overcame with this project was figuring out how to place an object in someones hand. I was able to overcome it by watching a tutorial about how to do such an action. The tutorial kind of helped but I mainly did wing it on figuring it out, but in the end it ended up working.
Given a chance to do this again I would change my background and actually program my animals to move around, step by step. Another thing I would consider doing is adding music to the background. The reason I would do these things is to better my project and make it look more complicated.
This project connects to careers in game designing and coding. It could also help in careers for programming virtual Reality This could help in programming at Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program.
