8P2 - Laser Printer

Using the Laser Cutter, I created A family tree because it looked challenging. Turns out it was. I had to fix so many errors and we had to put it together how we wanted it.

During this process, I learned how to use .svg (scalable vector graphics) To create the family tree.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer and Computational thinker because it required a lot of designing and thinking on how I wanted to put it together and to fix all the errors in my design.

A challenge I overcame on this project was trying to fix all the errors and I eventually I fixed the errors and was able to print. I was able to do it by creating a separate file for each of the pieces and it worked.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change the way I made the mitten around the letters. The reason why I would change it is because I hand drew it and it got really close to the letters and it was very square.

My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in laser printing and 3d printing and designing.
