Daily Log through out My Machine project
Daily Log: Day 1 It was my first day of my adventure of creating my cardboard project. I have first worked on my 10 good ideas while researching the perfect theme for my project. Afterwards I eventually found the theme for my project a candy machine! I knew I would need 3 different types off candy, skewers, springs, and lots of cardboard.
As you can see these are the candy I have chosen to use for my project. I have chosen Jolly Ranchers, Skittles, and M&Ms.
Half cut popsicle for my project.
Daily Log: Day 2 Hello welcome back to the second day of my adventure. I have started to measure the main parts of the candy machine and commence to draw all the measurements on to the cardboard. There was about 8 main measurement to build the base.
This is The main piece of cardboard I am going to use for the base.
This one of the bottom pieces of cardboard that is going to be at the bottom of the project
This page includes the main measurements of the base of the project. It includes the bottom base which is the most important and the side pieces.
These are 3 main little pieces to create the main base of were the candy is going to be held.
Daily Log: Day 3 Hello welcome back to day 3 of My project I followed my procedure and, I have started to cut the the base of the candy machine. Following with the two little arm which go on the side to support the candy holders. At the end of the hour I finished cutting all the main pieces and lots of different pieces we might use.
In this picture you can see the base piece and the arms hot glued together to make the base of were the candy boxes are going to be added on.
In picture the main base and the arms have another included part which is the back cardboard. The back cardboard is used mainly for support.
As you can see in the picture these are what I call the little arms. These are going to be glued on the sides for support.
Daily Log: Day 4 Welcome to day four of designing the candy machine. I have utilized to day to assemble the bases of were the candy is going to be held. To construct the candy holders I will start to take the measurement of the base and commence to cut cardboard in a square figure and also cut small rectangles. I will require 3 big squares and 6 small rectangles. Then I will prerequisite a rectangle and 2 small rectangles and glue the 2 small rectangles on the side of the square to create a box form.
With in the process I am at right now I have added the other part of cardboard and hot glued it on top of the popsicle sticks.
During this part of my project I finally have utilized the popsicle sticks. I used one of the squares and 2 of the rectangles to make a candy holder base. I have used the popsicle sticks because i have to add another piece of cardboard so I used them for extra support.
Daily Log: Day 5 Hola amigos welcome to day 5 of creating and designing my candy machine today I worked of making and attaching the part of wear the candy is going to be let out. To start off I thought today was going to be the most difficult part of the process but it was quite simple. You start off by grabbing a spring and putting the skewers in the middle of the spring. Next you you hot glue the skewer on to the bottom piece of your cardboard and then grab another piece of cardboard and stick a Popsicle stick through the cardboard and hot glue it to the base piece of wear the was candy held and done.
Same material nothing added just different point of view.
I have came a long way from the last piece i have talked about. In this picture I have added another piece of a popsicle stick under the piece other cardboard I had just added most recent.
In this part I have added a spring and skewer together and hot glued it to the bottom of the popsicle. I have also added another piece of cardboard on top of the skewer. Under the skewer and piece of cardboard I added another popsicle stick so you can pull it in and out so the candy can come out and not come out.
Daily Log: Day 6 Welcome back to day six of working on my candy machine . So today was the last day of working on my project. I have worked on cleaning up and finishing my project. I have also constructed these little circles with the logo of the candy. I have also glued all the candy bases to the main part so they can stand up. As you could see through the days I have set a goal for each day. Today was the last day of my candy project so enjoy this video and thank you for following me through out my journey.
Finally I have made the last part of my project and these are little circles that are going to be hot glued to the ends of the popsicles stick so you can push it in easier.
Paragraphs
I created my cardboard project by using candy, springs, fruit skewers ,a tape measurement, hot glue and lots of cardboard. I made a candy machine because I wanted to experiment and learn new things. I thought it would be also fun and challenging. During this long process I learned to to correctly measure everything before you are going to utilize it in a project. Thing number two I have learned from working on my project is to make sure everything you are using is stable and a good material. Thing number 3 is if you are working with a partner of partners is to do the project together and slowly and do not give up. The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Innovative Designer because it includes you to design and generate new ideas. It also includes you to communicate and share your ideas. I am also a Global Collaborator because everything on my website is shared with the world.
The largest problem in developing my project was the part of using the springs. The springs made it complicated because they were simply to big so we tried to cut the springs. After we tried to cut them it sort of worked and we put the spring back together with the project. If I could change anything about my project and make it more challenging it would probably chose to create the project bigger. Don't get me wrong I loved how it turned out but we would easier. We would not have faced difficulties like how big the springs were, and how big the skewers were and how the project would look better bigger so you could see the detail better.
At the Hastings Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the engineering design. My project connect to careers in engineering design because when I created the candy machine with my partner with had to communicate and we had to plan also and analyze. We also had to design the outside of the candy machine. We also had to problem solve problems we had.
