7P4 & P5 Robots

Using Bolt, I create a party bomb, Movement, a count down, then color changing celebration. I created at party bomb because it was a fun way to code. . Using Dash, I created an Lego ramp so it could throw an tire. I created throwing an tire because it is the most human like robot. Using Sphero Mini , I created robot that outlined many shapes because it performed a tasked humans could do. Using iRobot I created my robot to program an 4 letter word because it was the most challenging project of all.

Using the robots I completed 4 challenges because it was a fun and easy way to learn more about what robots can do. I also did this project because I want to challenge my self experience with robot because I do not now much about robots. Finally I could learn how close but how far away robots are away from the human life.

During the process of completing my projects I have learned how code more deeply. I have learned how to take control of a robot. The last thing I have learned is how to build something and have it interact with the robot.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project firstly ties with Global Collaborator because everything I do for my project, I post on my website which is shared with the world. A global collaborator is an international collaborator looks at complex ideas or problems from different perspective using collaboration tools. They also explore different local global issues and collaborate with people from different backgrounds and cultures which I did in the process of my projects. My projects also tie with empowered learner because I had problems in the middle of the process put the I fixed those problems and looked at the mistakes in the start and improved. An Empowered learner means that you set personal goals create strategies to achieve them and reflect on your own process and then improve. Make your own networks and then support them by the learning process. Then use technology to find feedback that tells you have improved. Also to understand basic ideas of technology behavior and show the ability to troubleshoot.

The challenges I had to overcome were coding, just experience with robots . I was able to overcome my first challenge by just practicing and asking questions. I was able to overcome my second project by just trying out things and using my day 2 on just seeing and checking out on the robots.

Given an opportunity to do these projects again I would chose and other word with easier angels and structure the Legos different so I could see if there is an easier way. The reason I would chose to use easier angels is so the coding would be easier and faster. The reason I would chose to structure the Legos is to see if the tire could have gone farther.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Computer Programming. It also ties to Engineering and Designing. My project connects to careers in the technology and robotics area.
