Daily Logs: Day 1

Welcome to another one of my projects. For today I am going create a project using a piece of technology called the Makey-Makey. For my first day I have created my list of 10 good ideas and my planning questions. I also looked at what projects I could create and messed around with the Makey-Makey.

Daily Logs: Day 2

Welcome back to day 2. Today I am going to work with Bananas. For the project I needed to go to Docs and find an word I could type. The word I choose was sad. I choose sad because it was an easy word to type with an banana. I connected the cables into the bananas and connected the USB cord into the PC.

Hello and welcome back to an new day. For today I am going to create an sketches of random shapes. I liked this project because It was simple and fun just doing artistic.

Hello and welcome back to an new day. For today I wanted to keep it simple and do something with an game. So I just took the Makey-Makey and played with the dino game.

Hello and welcome back to an new day. For to day I am going to create music with the help of the Makey-Makey. I decided To play with the piano. I choose the song Jingle Bells.

Daily Logs: Day 6

Hello and welcome back to an new day. Today I am going to use Play-Doh. I am going to play a game but going to use the play-Doh as a control type. This project took longer. I needed to wrap foil on top of a piece of cardboard and then put tape in the middle and then take 2 pieces of Play-Doh. Then I connected the alligator clips in the Play-Doh and started to play.

Using a Makey-Makey, cardboard, alligator clips, a USB cord, a tablet ,and a chrome book I created my Makey-Makey projects. The first reason I created my Makey-Makey projects is because it was a way on learning more about Invention Literacy. The next reason I created my projects is because you learn more about making and Design Thinking.

During this process, I learned about how you can use different materials to create a remote that fully works. Next I also learned that you can use food to type. The last thing that I learned is that a Makey-Makey can help and encourage kids like me to solve real world problems with different materials.

The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties with Global Collaborator because an Global Collaborator is is an international collaborator looks at complex ideas or problems from different perspective using collaboration tools. My project also ties to Innovative Designer because an Innovative Designer uses different types of technologies to identify and solve problems using original solutions.

A challenge I overcame on this project was choosing projects, knowing how the Makey-Makey works and drawing in the right angles with the Makey-Makey. The challenge about knowing how the Makey-Makey works; got solved by just messing around by it and also watching videos about it. The challenge about the sketchon the computer ; I was able to do by creating the shape in a better angle.

Given a chance to do this again, I would change how I drew my sketch and I would choose to create more and different challenges. The reason why I would change it is because first with the sketch I could have done more steps and created something more complicated. The reason why I would do more projects is because I could have learned more things.

Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Engineering Design CTE program at Hastings High School. My project connects to careers in to the Engineering career lines and technology careers lines.
