Planning Questions
Are you working by yourself or in a team?
I will be working in a team fo three people.
What materials will you need for your project? I will need my computer, iPad, Legos, and more.
What is your plan to create in this project? We will create a stop motion video with cyber bullying awareness.
What unique qualities will your project have? It will be unique because we will be creative with how our characters will solve problems and how they become friends.
On day one i did my list of ten good ideas, answered my planning questions, and discussed with my team what we should do for the project.
On day two we decided what to do and started to create a story and build scenes.
On day three we started to build a house for our scenes.
On day four we continued to build the house and surrounding lego scene.
On day five we continued to build.
On day six we finished the house and tree so that my friend could start taking pictures for the video.
On day seven we added more detail to the surrounding area and took more pictures for different scenes.
On day eight we finished the details for more scenes and got really far in taking more photos for the video.
On day nine We finished taking pictures and my friend started to edit the stop motion video.
On day ten we wrapped up editing our video and uploaded it to our websites.
During this process, I learned how to build many different lego scenes and objects.
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to Digital Citizen because our video shows a way to handle cyber bullying and the good side of no social media.
A challenge I overcame on this project was the very fragile lego pieces that were difficult to build with. I was able to do it by being careful and paying attention to how we handled the legos.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change what lego characters we used. The reason why I would change it is because the characters were too tall and it became difficult to take pictures of some scenes because of it, but there were no other characters to use.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, Marketing. My project connects to the Digital multimedia CTE program at Hastings High School.
My project connects to careers in stop motion animators because we created a stop motion video where we had to pay attention to the details and pictures that required building skill.
