hotglue sticks, hot glue gun, cardboard boxes, cardboard cutters.

To make a robot
What unique qualities will your project have?
it is worked on by everyone together and equally.
We go some cardboard boxes and started to make the feet.
We made the parts around the feet so they could go onto the legs
We cut the legs out into 4 pieces of straight cardboard for each one.
We glue the 4 pieces onto one of the foots and made our first leg
We finished both legs and started on the arms.
Finished the arms and head. We glued them all together.
Using cardboard boxes, I created a 3d robot because I thought it would be a good engineering type of project.
During this process, I learned how to cut evenly, .
The 7 standards of the class are Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, Creative Communicator, and Global Collaborator. My project ties to innovative designer because it is about planning and creating an robot. I learned about how to use a glue gun safely and how to use box cutters.
A challenge I overcame on this project was when part of the leg fell off when we tried to put it on the body. I was able to do it by adding a layer over the leg so it would more easily go back on.
Given a chance to do this again, I would change how we created the feet. The reason why I would change it is because in the beginning we messed up and had to do them over again.
Hastings High School Career and Technical Education Program offers Agriculture, Business Management, Computer Programming, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Digital Multimedia, Engineering Design, Finance, Insurance, and Marketing. My project connects to the CTE program at Hastings High School because we used engineering design which is about creating and we created a robot from cardboard boxes.
My project connects to careers in creative design roles, carpentry, and welding because all the jobs are based on making things or putting stuff together. Which is what I have been doing in my project.
