Voter Registration
Nebraska
Registration Deadlines:
In Person: 11 days before Election Day.
By Mail: Postmarked 18 days before Election Day. Received 14 days before Election Day, if there's an illegible postmark.
Online: 18 days before Election Day
To register in Nebraska you must:
be a citizen of the United States;
be a resident of Nebraska;
be at least 18 years of age or will be 18 years of age on or before the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November;
not have been convicted of a felony, or if convicted, two years have passed since the sentence was completed (including any parole);
not have been officially found to be mentally incompetent; and
not have been convicted of treason, unless you have had your civil rights stored.

Make sure you register before the voter registration deadline.
Nebraska Absentee Ballots
Nebraska is what’s called a “no-excuse” state, which means any registered voter may request an early-voting or absentee ballot and vote by mail, and is not required to provide a reason (Neb. Rev. Stat. sec. 32-941). Absentee ballots must be returned and received by Election Day.
Absentee Request Deadlines:
In Person: Received 11 days before Election Day.
By Mail: Received 11 days before Election Day.

How to Request an Absentee Ballot:
Use the Absentee Ballot Tool to prepare your application.
Sign and date the form. This is very important!
Return your completed application to your Local Election Office as soon as possible. We'll provide the mailing address for you.
All Local Election Offices will accept mailed or hand-delivered forms. Your Local Election Official will also let you fax or email the application.
Double-check the deadlines and be sure to cast your voted ballot on time to be sure it is counted.
