During term 5 we will be inquiring into the following central idea:
The properties of materials.
The suitability of materials.
How to ethically resource and use materials.
This term we are exploring materials. For our provocation into our inquiry the children made bridges using a range of materials and we then saw how many weights their bridge could hold.
This term we are lucky enough to have a coach from Spartan sports teach some of our PE lessons. We are focusing on striking and fielding games and skills.
In maths, we have been exploring mass using scales. We have learnt that mass is measured in grams and kilograms.
In DT, this term we are making robots inspired by WALL-E.
This term we celebrated VE day. It was the 80th year since the war ended in Europe. To celebrate VE day we wore red, white and blue.
This term we have started to look at the Great Fire of London. We attended a drama workshop to explore this further. The children had a lovely time and learnt lots about the Great Fire of London.
This week we painted our robots. We worked well as a team to add decorations.
The children's robots were amazing. Well done everyone!
We used the BeeBots this term and programmed them to move around a grid.
This term it was Enterprize week. We made bird feeders to attract the birds to our school and gardens.
Using all the materials we have learnt about this term we made robots. It was so lovely to see the children's creativity.
