Purpose:  The purpose of this lab is to measure the volume and temperature of a liquid accurately.

Hypothesis: When a thermometer and a graduated cylinder are read correctly, then the temperature and volume of the substance can be measured precisely and accurately.

Materials:

Safety:  Be careful to avoid breakage when working with glassware.

Summary of Procedure:  A graduated cylinder will be used to measure the volume of a liquid accurately and a thermometer will be used to measure the temperature of the liquid accurately.  The volume and temperature of the measurements will be compared with our classmates and the accepted answer to determine the precision and accuracy of results.
