Diamond Wallen

Diamond Wallen will be sharing her story during our Opening Ceremony, Saturday, April 27. 

Diamond Wallen 

Diamond Wallen attended Capital Prep from 6th grade to senior year and graduated in the class of 2015 with honors as the recipient of the Social Justice scholarship. She attended the Private Institution University of Saint Joseph and graduated with her Bachelor of Social Work in 2019 and recently finished as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker, class of 2023. Over the last decade, Diamond has been a dedicated pillar to social injustice youth advocacy in low-socioeconomic areas inside the school systems and community; throughout her work, she has developed, facilitated, and innovated best new practices, changed school cultures, policies, and procedures, and created her own business, Wallen4Youth, an organization to provide youth a safe space to heal their mental health post-pandemic. Diamond offers services to promote positive outcomes for youth and families, bridging the opportunity gap by utilizing a trauma-informed integration approach to client-centered assistance, case management, crisis intervention, and programs alongside impacting school systems, Incorporating the Teach with Love Curriculum created by Diamond—a new evidence-based curriculum building positive relationships for educators and students to cultivate shared leadership.

Diamond is the Director of Youth Development for the Greater Hartford Wilson-Gray YMCA Youth and Family Center as she focuses on community restoration and post-pandemic engagement.
