Having done a similar project before (with marshmallows and spaghetti) I knew the best route to go. We took our newspaper and rolled it out end to end. We made out base first, the shape was best described as a pyramid, with a triangle on the bottom and three pillars going up. Once we had our base, we added rolled up newspaper going straight up as tall as we could until it would topple over.
In the end, we finished top three falling only to the teachers, who had the same design, and one other group. The next time I attempt this project I will try to roll the papers more tightly to provide a stronger base, and in the end, have a taller tower.
I used the collaboration transferable skill by communicating with my partner while also being open to their ideas.
