The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application used by many private and out of state colleges. This application allows students to apply to several colleges at the same time.
Students should first verify that the out of state or private school they are applying to uses Common App. If so, you will need to establish an account and enter all of your information.
The Common App opens August 1st of each year. Given the variance in college application deadlines, students should pay close attention to when they need to submit their materials.

Not all applications will be through Common Application, you will need to make sure to research each out of state and/or private school you are intending to apply. Some colleges will have their own application platforms similar to our UC and CSU applications. Make sure to read all instructions and record all dates and deadlines.
Transcripts are also requested by out of state and private colleges. Some of the platforms used are SENDedu, Parchment and My Coalition. Make sure to follow steps laid out of the college application to add your counselor to those transcript requests.
