What is Duke tip?

The 7th Grade Talent Search is the entry point to TIP’s educational programs. Designed to provide the advanced challenge and supportive community academically talented students need to excel, our programs offer accelerated, hands-on courses on subjects not often found in school.

Programs for 7th Grade Talent Search participants include Summer Studies, eStudies, and Scholar Weekends. All charge additional fees, but financial aid is available.

Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.

How Does My child qualify?

Students qualify for the 7th Grade Talent Search by scoring at or above the 95th percentile on a grade-level standardized test (typically the Math and ELA Milestones from their 6th grade year). Enrollment provides benefits that last through the end of high school, including the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT, specialized publications, college prep advice, and access to educational programs.

How do I enroll my child?

If you have received information in the mail from HCMS that your child has qualified, you may enroll at the link below using the test ID information that was given to you.
