Safer, Smarter Teens
**This program helps us fulfill GA State Law SB 401 through curriculum that helps teach sexual abuse and assault awareness. The details of this law are outlined here.
During the 2021-22 school year, the counseling program will be presenting the Safer, Smarter Teens curriculum. "The purpose of this curriculum is to empower your students to protect themselves and others from abuse by arming them with protective principles."
Below is the outlines of the topics covered in the curriculum:
Lesson 1- Self- Esteem and Personal Power
Lesson 2- Fitting in and Acceptance
Lesson 3- Grooming & Boundaries
Lesson 4- A.C.T.- Abuse, Disclosure, and Getting Help
Lesson 5- Isolation- Staying Safe in a Virtual World
Lesson 6- S.A.F.E.- It's OK to Tell
Lesson 7- Human Trafficking (7th & 8th grade)

"Lauren's Kids was founded by child advocate, former classroom educator, and child sexual abuse survivor Lauren Book. The organization educates adults and children about sexual abuse prevention and safety topics through an in-school curriculum and speaking engagements around the country and the world. The goal of Lauren's Kids is to create a world where the sexual abuse and exploitation of children is not tolerated. Lauren's Kids is a designated 501 (c)(3) organization."
