Third grade's lunch period is very early. Later on in the afternoon, we will have a snack break when the students are able to chat with friends and have a light snack. Since this only lasts about ten minutes, snacks should be easy, healthy, and convenient to eat. On nice days, sometimes we will eat outside at the picnic tables. Pretzels, dry cereal, granola bars, apple slices, raw vegetables, and granola bars are all great examples...brain food! Your child's snack should not need a spoon or fork since that will take away from the convenience of it (sometimes we eat while finishing assignments). If your child gets hungry later in the day, please remember to pack an extra snack that is separate from snacks packed for lunch; we will set this aside in the morning so your child doesn't accidentally eat it at lunch time. We don't always have extra snacks stored in the classroom. Thank you!
