- How do we mathematically describe what is happening when something is moving in a circle?
- Speed is always constant in circular motion.
- The Force of the circular motion always points towards the center or perpendicular to the direction of motion (we will learn more about this in or force unit next week).
- Velocity is not constant in circular motion because we are constantly changing direction.
- The velocity vector is represented by a tangential line against the curve of the circular path.
- The acceleration of the circular motion is not constant because the velocity is not constant.
- The acceleration of circular motion is dependent upon the magnitude of the velocity (or speed) and the radius of the circle.
